Notice to Bidders

The Grant County Board of Commissioners will receive sealed bids for the services listed below at the Grant County Auditor’s Office, 401 S. Adams St., 2nd Floor., Marion, IN 46953 until 9:00 A.M. EDT on August 12th, 2021. The sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the regular meeting of the Grant County Board of Commissioners beginning at 10:00A.M. on August 16th, 2021, in the Grant County Council Chambers, Marion, IN 46953. The sealed bids will be opened and read aloud immediately after commencement of said meeting.

Pursuant to Ind. Code §§ 6-1.1-4-4.5 & 18.5, the Grant County Assessor and the Grant County Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals will contract for a Professional Appraiser to act as technical advisor regarding real property reassessment, and all other services as described in the specifications. The Professional Appraiser must be either an individual who is certified under Ind. Code § 6-1.1-35.5 & 50 IAC 15-4 as a Level III assessor-appraiser or a firm whose resident supervisor(s) is certified as a Level III assessor-appraiser.
Specifications for this professional services project, which describe the services to be provided and other terms and conditions are available at the Office of the Grant County Assessor.
In comparing bids, consideration will not be confined to price only. The successful bid will be the one that is judged to best serve the interests of the Grant County Assessor, when price, product, quality, and delivery are considered. It shall be the Bidder’s responsibility to carefully examine each item of the specifications. Any bid not in substantial compliance with the bid specifications will be rejected. The Commissioners reserve the right to accept or reject any bid and to waive any irregularities in bidding. All bidders are strictly prohibited from making contact with the Commissioners in an attempt to influence the Commissioners’ decision. All bids may be held for a period not to exceed 60 days before the contract is awarded, during which time no bid may be withdrawn.

Assessment Calendar Dates Relevant to Taxpayers

Beginning in 2016, the assessment date changes to January 1.
A notice of assessments are sent to taxpayers each year.
Any appeals can be filed up to 45 days after notice is sent.

2017 pay 2018 Notices of Assessment of Land and Structures (form 11s) were mailed on May 1, 2017 to all parcels with the exception of exempt.
*2017 pay 2018 Appeal Deadline is June 15, 2017 for all parcels*

2016 Yearly Assessment Notices Sent to Taxpayers
2016 pay 2017 Notices of Assessment of Land and Structures (form 11s) were mailed on May 20, 2016 to all parcels with the exception of exempt.

2015 Yearly Assessment Notices Sent to Taxpayers
2015 pay 2016 Notices of Assessment of Land and Structures (form 11s) were mailed on June 15, 2015 to all parcels with the exception of exempt.
